Core Responsibilities

The Marketing fellow will work with the CEO to develop materials, partnerships, events, public relations, and other marketing programs across the organization. Materials will include newsletters, presentations, annual report, launches of new initiatives and press releases.

 

Responsibilities and activities will include:

• Identify channels for outreach through the media, social networks, associations and develop partnership programs

• Prepare marketing materials (including email newsletters, website copy, brochures, etc.) for community and volunteer outreach

• Manage a schedule of in person and online events – from initial concept through execution and evaluation

• Contribute to the overall marketing strategy of the organization over a one and three year horizon.

 

Recommended skills and qualifications include:

• Flexibility, creativity, energy and initiative to work effectively in an entrepreneurial nonprofit environment

• Exceptional writing and some design experience. The ideal candidate will have some experience using these skills either in corporate or academic environments to engage, motivate, and drive readers to action.

• Familiarity with common computer software packages (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.). Experience with some elements of design (e.g., Photoshop) and/or web software (e.g., html) is useful

 

We expect the volunteers to commit for 5 - 6 months and spend about 2 - 3 hours of their time each week.
